Parents,

The email from Swimmingly to declare for the Invitational was sent out Monday. We NEED to know either way if your swimmer will be participating or NOT participating in this meet by 4 p.m. THIS Friday. Visit https://clubhouse.swimmingly.app/login (or use the Swimmingly Fan App) to declare your swimmer(s). It’s VERY important to sign up for this meet – as it is VERY difficult to add a swimmer to the meet the day of…. So most likely, if you don’t declare your swimmer(s) we will assume they will NOT be at the meet and not be slotted into the Heat Sheet lineups.

Here's a couple important things to consider when deciding if your swimmer will participate in this meet:

1. The environment is in a High School Competition pool and is very exciting. All 7 teams in the league will participate in the meet. We will be assigned an area on the Pool Deck for our team will “camp out” for the day. This area is only for swimmers and coaches - parents will NOT be allowed on the Pool Deck as there are plenty of seats in the stands to watch your swimmers. Then all teams will compete in a “Spirit” competition at the end of the meet – very exciting and fun to watch (and competitive) and the kids LOVE it!!!

2. 6U Swimmers: Your child must be able to swim the 12.5 meters UNASSISTED (there will be swimmer “helpers” in the lanes – but they are not allowed to touch/help the swimmers.) If your swimmer is unable to swim unassisted, please do not register them for the meet. If your swimmer can do freestyle unassisted but needs assistance on other strokes we can add them just for the event they can complete unassisted – just reach out to the coaches to let them know.

3. It is a LONG day! The meet is all day and will finish up around 3 p.m. There will be a refreshment stand at the Meet for food purchases, and you can also pack a lunch with your swimmers. (Please try to have them dispose of trash on the pool deck properly.)

Again, we encourage you to make the choice that fits your family and swimmer the best! We do have two additional meets prior to the Invitational, Tomorrow at home vs Gray Eagle and next Tuesday at home vs. Hawthorns. (***YES, we still need parent volunteers for both meets.***) And then the Team Party on Friday evening next week, so there are still more opportunities to swim if you choose not to participate in the Invitational.

We will have some more detailed information regarding the Invitational later this week/first of next week and will have a list of Parent Volunteer positions we will be required to fill – so be on the lookout for that email later.
